Ten perfect bound, high-quality specials will come out of The Ultimate Sport Series each year. This series will be high revenue generating for retailers, with each edition carrying a premium cover price of £9.99. The special issues provide an expert reference point for those readers looking to both improve their performance and knowledge of their sport, says Time Inc UK.
The first in the series is a 132-page issue targeted at golf fans, titled ‘Build a Better Swing’. Content includes how to master the basics, fix your faults and easy practice drills, sharing 177 tips to improve readers’ games.
Hamish Dawson, publishing director of Time Inc UK’s sport and recreation titles, says: “There’s a clear opportunity in the markets served by our three iconic sport media brands to deliver additional, focused, premium content to our audiences. We already know that readers are willing to invest in premium priced magazines that can be kept and referred to and that they want more from their favourite brands. The content in this series will range from invaluable, practical advice and support, to unparalleled insight across each the three markets we serve. The Ultimate Sport Series is distributed by Marketforce and will launch in over 600 independent retailers. Analysis carried out ahead of distribution identified those stores where golf, football and rugby titles are already popular. Independent retailers wishing to receive copies can do so by contacting their wholesaler.
Each title from the series will carry a cover price of £9.99. The first in the series landed on newsstands on 12th March 2015.
