Vogue commissions limited edition t-shirt

To mark Fashion’s Night Out 2012, Vogue has commissioned Jonathan Saunders to design a limited edition t-shirt, with proceeds going to Refuge, a national domestic violence charity.

"It's such an honour to collaborate with Alexandra Shulman and Vogue on this year's official Fashion’s Night Out t-shirt. The design features one of my signature prints which I hope people are excited to take away from the night. I am so happy to be a part of this global initiative raising much needed funds for charity, and I look forward to a great night out on September 6th" comments designer Jonathan Saunders.

The t-shirts, supplied by Gap, will be on sale for £18 in many of the stores participating in this year’s Fashion’s Night Out. Condé Nast Worldwide News on St George Street, W1, will be selling the t-shirt exclusively ahead of the big night from the 3rd September.

Refuge’s Chief Executive, Sandra Horley CBE, remarks “We are delighted to have been selected as the benefactor for this year’s Fashion’s Night Out. Domestic violence is the number one issue for women in this country. This is why we need support more than ever and why it is fantastic that Refuge is receiving such high profile support from British Vogue, designer Jonathan Saunders and the Fashion’s Night Out team who are working together to raise funds and awareness of Refuge’s work.”

Jonathan Saunders is a Scottish fashion designer famous for his work with prints and colours. In 2005 he was named Scottish Designer of the Year at the Scottish Style Awards and in 2010 and 2011 he was awarded the Designer of the Year Award at the Scottish Fashion Awards. Saunders was recently announced as the British Fashion Council Vogue Fashion Fund Winner 2012.

Fashion’s Night Out 2012 is taking place in London on Thursday 6th September. Vogue has partnered with hundreds of designers and retailers in London to celebrate fashion. In addition to events happening in London and across the US, Fashion’s Night Out will be held in 25 cities this year; Paris, Rome, Milan, Florence, Berlin, Dusseldorf, Madrid, Moscow, St Petersburg, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Sydney, Seoul, Shanghai, New Delhi, Taipei, Kaohsiung, Tokyo, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Lisbon, Istanbul, Amsterdam, Athens and Thessaloniki.

Refuge is a national charity that offers a range of services for women and children experiencing domestic violence. Refuge opened the world’s first women’s refuge in 1971 in Chiswick, and since then has led the campaign to end domestic violence, supporting over 80,000 women and children each year.
