Wired presents Upstarts in partnership with Intel

Wired and Intel have announced the launch of Upstarts, a series of films focusing on the next vanguard of tech start-ups, as nominated and introduced by some of the industry’s current leading lights.

The first of three films on the trailblazers of the future is live now on Wired.co.uk.

Jacqui Kavanagh, Commercial Director of Video at Condé Nast Britain says “We are delighted that Intel partnered with us to make this series and profile these innovators. Intel, as a pioneering enabler of creative and technological achievement complements Wired, as a trusted curator of the ever changing technological landscape.”

Wired asked members of this year’s Wired 100 to nominate the next big name in innovation. In the first film of the series Taavet Hinrikus, Co-founder & CEO of Transferwise, nominates Herman Narula, CEO of Improbable.

Hinrikus, says of Narula: “I met Herman and I have to say that his energy when he was describing what he is doing with Improbable immediately struck a chord with me… Herman is taking on something that is really big and ambitious and I think that’s the thing that is really admirable.”

The two further Upstarts films will feature Bruno Guissani from TED nominating artist and body architect Lucy McRae, and Hans Ulrich Olbrist, Co-Director of The Serpentine Galleries nominating artist Matt Copson. These films will go live on 16th and 18th December respectively.

The Wired 100 are the 100 most influential individuals in the wider Wired world today, as nominated by more than 200 people in Wired’s network, says Condé Nast.
