The magazine was recently launched by Simon Brew after a successful Kickstarter campaign, following his resignation as editor-in-chief of entertainment website Den of Geek, owned by Dennis Publishing, earlier this year.
Published monthly from January 2019, the title will cover mainstream cinema whilst focussing on cinematic releases that go under-the-radar of the UK film press. As well as regular features on filmmaking, screenwriting and mental health, Film Stories offers opportunities for up-and-coming film writers. The magazine will run parallel to the podcast of the same name.
Every page, feature and article of the title is incorporated into Exact Editions’ comprehensive search facility, meaning that platform-users can search for a specific film, director or review at the click of a button.
Film Stories is now available in the Exact Editions individual and institutional shops.
Simon Brew, founder of the magazine said: “Through Film Stories we want to shine a light on the cinema shown in the smaller rooms of the multiplex and bigger screens of the independent. The sleek digital edition will aid us in sharing this passion with film enthusiasts all over the world.”
Daryl Rayner, Managing Director of Exact Editions, commented: “We’re delighted to have Film Stories on board, as the future archive of issues will prove to be a valuable resource for all those interested or involved in the industry. It’s joining an excellent stable of film titles including Sight & Sound, Cineaste and Little White Lies.”
