The issue is part of a strategy of Elle Magazine to raise environmental awareness among its readers by producing an issue with minimum environmental impact – such as fashion shoots taking place in the UK, transport via low emission vehicles, fashion from sustainable sources etc.
The issue is printed at Wyndeham Roche on 70gsm ultraSKY from Leipa (recycled from 100% post-consumer waste).
According to Leipa, it is calculated that this will have ‘saved’ the equivalent of 1000 trees.
It is also, continues Leipa, indicative of improvement in quality standards on recycled grades that such a quality conscious title can be printed on such papers while maintaining the quality thresholds required by Elle.
With continued consumer and media awareness, an environmental conscience is becoming more important, says the paper supplier.
