Take a Break Makes is a new magazine for the enthusiastic crafter created by the team behind the women’s weekly magazine and is the first of a number of specials planned in 2019.
Take a Break Makes offers easy-to-follow step-by-step guides on how to create show-stopping makes, including papercraft, jewellery, fashion, garden furniture and home décor. Aimed at all levels of expertise, each make is beautifully photographed to ensure readers can achieve outstanding results – whether they have an hour to spare, a weekend or just ten minutes, says Bauer Media.
The magazine will include secrets and tips from expert crafters and ideas to help readers make the most of their homes and the chance to win a sewing machine, a craft break for two, £300 to spend at Hobbycraft and £250 cash. The magazine will also showcase readers’ makes from the Brainwaves pages and share their stories.
Commenting on the launch, Liz Watkinson, Managing Director of Bauer Media’s real-life portfolio said: “Take a Break Makes will tap into the huge popularity of crafting across all ages and levels of expertise. With ideas to stimulate the creative side of our large and engaged reader community, inspiring them to join in and share their experiences with each other, the magazine will be the focus for anyone who wants to embrace the enjoyment of crafting.”
Take a Break Makes hits newsstands on Thursday 7 March, priced at £1.99 and will remain on sale for eight weeks. Further issues of Take a Break Makes will be published in 2019 if newsstand sales targets are achieved, say the publishers.
