Mail increases market share

According to figures released by ABC on Friday, both the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday have achieved a record market share for February 2015, says the Mail.

The Daily Mail says: The Daily Mail has an average daily sale of 1,632,748 and a market share of 23.2%, up 0.5% year on year. The Mail on Sunday has an average sale of 1,450,201 and a market share of 21.8%, up 0.3% year on year.

Additionally, the Daily Mail’s Saturday figure has once again outstripped the Sun, by 26,447 – with an average sale of 2,267,309.

These record ABC figures follow the NRS PADD figures released last month which confirmed the Daily Mail as the biggest newsbrand in Britain, with a combined print and digital readership of 25 million.

Rosemary Gorman, Advertising Director, Mail Newspapers, said: “Today’s figures released by ABC confirm that both the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday titles continue to outperform their rivals. As the biggest Saturday newspaper once again this February, the Daily Mail continues to offer advertisers a highly valuable window into consumers’ weekend routines.”
