Woman’s Weekly launches live show

Woman’s Weekly, the magazine that celebrates the home, family and lives of UK women, has announced the launch of its first standalone live show; Woman’s Weekly Live! The Creative Stitches & Hobbycrafts Show.

Running from 13th-15th September at EventCity in Manchester, Woman’s Weekly Live is a partnership with well-respected Show Organiser ICHF Events. Woman’s Weekly has previously worked with ICHF on other exhibitions, but the launch of Woman’s Weekly Live is the brand’s first standalone exhibition and marks the start of a formal partnership with ICHF.

At Woman’s Weekly Live, visitors will be able to enjoy a number of creative workshops, live demonstrations and Q&A sessions during the three-day exhibition. The show will feature:

• Woman’s Weekly virtual office – In a first for the brand the senior editorial team, under Editor Diane Kenwood, will be based at the show for the duration, working on the magazine as well as giving demonstrations, talks and Q&A sessions.

• Fiction workshops – Fiction editor Gaynor Davies and her team of experts will be running workshops, giving advice and instruction for aspiring authors.

• Cookery theatre – Offering ideas and inspiration, Sue McMahon, Woman’s Weekly Cookery editor will be leading demonstrations throughout the show.

• Knitting area – Knitting editor Kandy Regis and Technical editor Tina Egleton will be on hand to answer knitting questions and also actively demonstrate projects and new techniques.

• Fashion area - Anne Hartnett, Fashion editor will be offering tips on dressing for different figures and what the new trends are for Autumn and Winter.

• Craft workshops – Manning the craft workshop, where visitors can make cards, jewellery and other projects, will be Woman’s Weekly Home team, including Dilly Orme, Linda McClelland and Emily Dawe.

Sandy Gale, publishing director of Woman’s Weekly said: “We know our reader’s love it when we take the magazine out to them, so over the past year Woman’s Weekly has been expanding the brand into the live arena. Woman’s Weekly has worked with ICHF on a number of smaller projects, but this is the first time that we have collaborated to create our own show. We are hugely excited about being able to interact with our reader’s and also offer brands a new way to engage with our loyal audience.”
