Condé Nast: new commercial appointments

Emma Redmayne has been named Publishing Director of a newly combined House & Garden and The World of Interiors commercial team, and Kate Slesinger has been appointed Publishing Director of Tatler and Vanity Fair.

The announcement was made yesterday by Nicholas Coleridge, Managing Director, and Albert Read, Deputy Managing Director of Condé Nast Britain.

Emma and Kate take up their newly created roles with immediate effect.

“Emma and Kate have demonstrated they are top rate publishers with great commercial tenacity and the ability to develop their businesses with the changing opportunities and needs at play today. Responding to the evolving nature of print publishing and the advertising market, the greater efficiencies these commercial team consolidations will bring ensures these luxury media brands will remain market leaders.” commented Nicholas Coleridge.

Emma came to Condé Nast from IPC in 1991, joining Vogue as a sales executive, progressing to Beauty Advertising Director. Emma then moved to The World of Interiors in 1997 as Ad Director, subsequently becoming Associate Publisher, a role Emma combined with that of Promotions Director. Emma became Publisher of The World of Interiors in 2004.

Emma Redmayne remarked, “I’ve been privileged to have spent the last 20 years with The World of Interiors, giving me great insight and experience of the wonderful interior design and decoration world. To now have the honour to further consolidate with the addition of House & Garden in its 70th anniversary year is a joy. As Publishing Director of the two most respected titles in the interiors market, I’m excited to take up this opportunity, creating a supremely talented commercial team. This is a fantastic moment for myself and the team, and we are looking forward to working with our clients to build on successes to date.”

Kate was previously Publishing Director of House & Garden, and prior to that was the highly successful Publishing Director of Condé Nast Traveller from 2004 to 2009, in addition to time at Vogue as Associate Publisher. Kate joined Condé Nast from J Walter Thompson New York.

Kate Slesinger remarked, “I am honored and delighted to be taking on the commercial responsibility of these two jewels in the Condé Nast crown, as publishing and advertising move into a new and exciting phase. Tatler and Vanity Fair between them have the luxury market covered, and the new, combined team aims to make life simpler for the clients and advertising agencies who are targeting these affluent, influential consumers. We will deliver a slick service responding to multi-platform as well as unilateral briefs, drawing on the wealth of talent and experience at our fingertips. There couldn’t be a more appropriate time for this to happen, and I’m delighted to be part of it.”

The structures of the newly combined Tatler and Vanity Fair and House & Garden and The World of Interiors commercial teams will be announced in the coming weeks. This news follows the recent successful consolidation of the Condé Nast Traveller and Brides sales teams, says Condé Nast.
