NatMag promotes Greg Witham to new role

The National Magazine Company has announced the appointment of Greg Witham to the role of Trading & Key Accounts Director for Hearst UK Cross Media - NatMag’s newly configured and re-branded central advertising unit.

Greg (pictured), who is currently Head of Advertising at NatMag’s weeklies, will report to Group Commercial Director Matt Salmon. He will lead the trading and key account teams responsible for negotiating NatMag’s largest advertiser contracts and delivering new and innovative solutions to clients and their agencies.

Hearst UK Cross Media, which was created earlier this year, operates as a media neutral team for the National Magazine Company and offers key clients a single point of contact for multi-media solutions across the entire NatMag portfolio of more than 21 brands including magazines, websites and other platforms.

NatMag’s largest clients include Procter & Gamble, L’Oreal, Unilever, Estee Lauder and Chanel. The publisher says it saw significant growth in advertising pages last year of more than 20%.

Hearst UK Cross Media also recently signed NatMag to Carat’s Magazine Works Initiative which promotes the benefits of magazines to entice ad spend away from other media. As part of the initiative, Carat has brokered a six-figure deal for Johnson & Johnson Compeed, traditionally a TV advertiser, across all women's brands at NatMag for four months.

Group Commercial Director, Matt Salmon, says: “Hearst UK Cross Media is a significant investment by NatMag and we are delighted that Greg has joined the team in one of two senior roles. His skills, expertise and reputation in the advertising market are crucial to helping us achieve our goals of delivering a one stop shop across multi platforms to our existing clients and attracting new business.”

Greg Witham says: “I’ve loved working with the amazing team at Natmag Weeklies, and am happy to be leaving the business in good shape. I’m excited to have the opportunity to now work across all of NatMag’s brands and look forward to the new challenge, and to working with all our clients and agency partners. It’s a great time to be joining Hearst UK Cross Media.”

A decision on whether to replace Greg’s role as Head of Advertising at NatMag’s Weeklies has yet to be made.
